Dr Nicola Davis MBChB, FRACS

Consultant Oncologic Breast and General Surgeon, Tauranga Public Hospital and Grace Hospital, Tauranga Specialist Centre.

Nicola Davis is a Consultant Breast and General Surgeon with subspecialty training and experience in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery. Nicola also conducts general surgery procedures, with expertise in laparoscopic cholecystectomy, laparoscopic hernia repair, melanoma and thyroid operations.

After studying for her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree at Auckland Medical School, Nicola undertook her General Surgery training in New Zealand hospitals, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2016. She subsequently gained further subspecialty experience and training in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery through BreastSurgANZ with fellowship positions in Brisbane (Mater Hospital) and Canberra (Calvary Hospital and The Canberra Hospital). Both fellowship years also included General Surgery, Melanoma and Endocrine Surgery training.

On her return to New Zealand, Nicola was appointed Consultant Oncologic Breast and General Surgeon at Tauranga Public Hospital, with subspecialty expertise in Breast Surgery, and further interest and expertise in laparoscopic cholecystectomy, laparoscopic hernia repair, melanoma and thyroid operations. In addition to public services, Nicola consults privately at Tauranga Specialist Centre, provides specialist services through BreastScreen Bay of Plenty, and operates at Grace Hospital. She is the Lead Surgeon for BreastScreen Midland and a Board Trustee for Breast Cancer Support Service Tauranga.

Nicola is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a member of BreastSurgANZ, the Australasian Society of Breast Disease, and the New Zealand Association of General Surgeons. Nicola regularly attends conferences and courses to keep up with advances in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery and General Surgery that give her patients the benefit of the best surgical techniques in their treatment.

Nicola believes in patient-centred care and will work with you to navigate complex treatment decisions, ensuring you have all the information you require to make a fully informed decision that is right for you. 

Apart from her clinical and theatre work, Nicola is a backyard beekeeper who enjoys the outdoor lifestyle offered by the Bay of Plenty, including tramping, swimming, kayaking and fishing.
